What inspired you to pursue a career in IT and join our service desk team?
When I was in third grade, I remember my elementary school getting its very first computer lab. It was so exciting and felt bigger than all of us. I started my computer literacy while starting graphic design in high school and have managed to work my way into being a Tier 2 technician in the years since. I joined EXOS for a multitude of reasons, but the biggest one is the culture. There is just a sense of togetherness when we are all working together.
Can you describe a particularly challenging IT issue you’ve successfully resolved recently?
The Fire Dept Chief needed a computer replacement. I replaced his computer but we could not get office to sign in correctly. After doing this for about 8 years, it seemed easy at the time to take care of, but I was wrong. I started with basic troubleshooting to trying to manually add the account to clean installs and changes in the registry. After some advanced troubleshooting, I was able to find an older group policy that was put in place that was blocking 0365 logins on this one particular domain. Once I found the issue, I promptly fixed it, and the user has been working on their new pc with no issues!
What’s your favorite part about working on the service desk and assisting our clients?
The best part about working with EXOS are the people I have met and the relationships I have started to build with both HQ and client side! Not only that, but working with people and finding ways to help others is one of my biggest core values and I get to live in those values everyday!
How do you stay up to date with the latest technology trends and developments in IT support?
I keep up with technology newsletters and internal trainings through EXOS.
Could you share a memorable client success story or experience that made a significant impact on you?
Just being able to help other people every day is enough for me!
What’s one piece of advice you would offer to clients to help them optimize their IT experience?
Invest in your infrastructure. Your infrastructure is what allows your company to run smoothly and to make sure your company and your employees to be the best they can be, you need to have the best foundation in place as much as possible.
When you’re not busy at the service desk, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I am a single mother of 2 beautiful children, and we like to bake and cook intricate meals and desserts. I also still participate in art and do watercolor paintings at home. I also started ballet in the last few years and have started point!
